Community Acupuncture FAQs
Community acupuncture is offered at Spring Root Acupuncture in Woodbury, CT. Appointments are required for these sessions.
In community style acupuncture, the initial assessment will take about 15 minutes, after which each person will rest with the needles for about 30 minutes. The entire session lasts 45 min-1 hour.
Please ensure that you are well-hydrated and have eaten a light meal prior to your session.
Wear comfortable, loose fitting clothing. The points that will be used are located from the elbow down to the arm and hand, and from the knee down to the leg and foot.
Pants and shirts that can be easily rolled up so these points are accessible are recommended.
We are able to keep the rates much lower in this style than in private acupuncture because we can see more people per hour.
Symptom Screening: If you are sick in any way, including fever, body aches, sore throat, sinus issues (even if you think it’s “just allergies”), or uncommon digestive upset, please do not schedule or keep your in-person appointment.
Masks: Everyone will be required to bring and wear a mask covering their mouth and nose at all times. I will also be wearing a mask throughout our session.
If you have a medical condition that prevents you from safely wearing a mask, you may request an individual treatment room if space allows.
Safety and Sanitation:
-It is imperative that you arrive on time and only enter the building at your scheduled appointment time
-I ask that you leave all non-essential items at home or in your car.
-You will be directed to immediately sanitize your hands (I will provide hand sanitizer) before going to the treatment room and lying down on the table.
-Treatment tables or chairs are spaced generously from one another (at least 6 ft apart).
- I am using an EPA approved surface disinfectant to thoroughly disinfect the treatment tables before and after each patient’s visit.
-I will no longer be using sheets so please wear loose, comfortable clothing so acupuncture points are accessible. Short sleeves and pants that can easily be rolled up to the knee work best.
